Back in action

Well the internet took much longer than expect to get up and running (thanks for nothing Suddenlink). I’m back, new state, new digs, new wife, and just recently a new dog. Basically I have a ton of new stuff around and I need to learn the roads, bummer. Below you can see my cross country travel map of excellence. Moving 2/3rds of the way across the country took 3 days and untold gallons of gas. Anyway, the wedding was just great, I had a blast and everyone that I have talked to had a blast as well. I think most of the fun can be attributed to a four hour open bar, but that is just a theory at this point.

I forgot to mention before I left about what we were toasting with at the wedding, Rogue Shakespeare Stout. Smalls, my wife, is really into good beer as well and Rogue is a favorite of ours. Her grandmother asked us to reconsider toasting with beer, but we just had to do it. I’ll get a review of that beer up here sometime soon when I have a chance to catch my breath.

For our honeymoon we went to Portland, OR, microbrew captial of the US. We had a great time having new beers with lunch and dinner everyday. A quick list of places we went.

  • Rock Bottom Brewery (the orginal brewpub chain)
  • Deschutes Brewery
  • McMenamins Brewery
  • Full Sail Brewery
  • Rogue Ales

We had a few other mircos but didn’t get a chance to visit the breweries were they were made. Over the next week I will be posting about these breweries and their beers. If you are into food, we also ate at each of these places. That’s about it, wedding gifts are still being accepted for those of you who are a bit slow to the drawl.
